platform EX-MÊKH in Athens 2017
We are living in a situation which is
characterized by transition. Existing well known
structures, whether it be political, economical or climatological structures are slowly
disintegrating. Within short time systems of
which we thought would be unchangeable
appear to collapse or to transform into
something hitherto unknown. Until now we
have no tools or insight to get a hold on
this new situation. All that remains for us to
fall back on is our experience and our
intuition when we enter this transition zone.
It is a journey that is frightening but it
also offers new possibilities. Art works as a
small parallel world in this new reality, a
collateral zone, in which artists react on new
challenges in an unconventional fashion,
they comment our changing habitat and
provoke creative solutions.
